Just what is PRT (Perception Repatterning Technique™) all about?

 

More than 3 decades ago, Nancy Longmire, PRT Founder, started her education in mind and body integration and trauma recovery. After studying and mastering many modalities of therapy, she simplified and combined several modalities into one specific procedure as an effective means of addressing emotional and mental health. Thus was born Perception Repatterning Technique™!

 

By means of dialogue, we explore perceptions that have been created by events in our life. Our feelings connected to these events are where these perceptions develop. We carry them with us and they affect how we view everything. If a perception or belief is negative or limiting, it can cause pain throughout our life. Once we discover where the perception started, we then use cross-body movement, emotional stress release, visualization, affirmations, and repetition to replace the damaging perception with a new positive one.

 

These are the main modalities used in a PRT session:
 

Dialogue

​We begin by dialoguing about your most concerning issues or challenges.  Through careful & skilled listening and observation, we guide you to identify recurring feelings so as to target the perception that needs altering. 
 

Perception

Perceptions are identified after discussing the concerns you have.

Your perception can be:

  • View of self 

  • View of others

  • Others view of you

Once perceptions are clearly identified, we can begin the process of repatterning.
 

Repattern

​Unhealthy perceptions or thinking patterns are re-patterned through cross pattern movements, emotional stress release, emotional finger mode, visualization, affirmations, eye rotations, and repetition.

 

How is it you can be successful at PRT?

Neuroplasticity or brain plasticity is something every human possesses. It is the brain's ability to adapt and change. Through neuroplasticity we have the ability for growth and reorganization of our brains and to create new neural pathways. By means of this, we can successfully rewire our brains and change our limiting beliefs. These changes will lead to a healthier and more satisfying life. We all have the power to make these changes and hopefully, it is time for you to own that power by booking a private session!
